20 Fenchurch Street, Sky Gardens

20 Fenchurch Street, known locally as the Walkie-Talkie, is a 38-storey high building in the heart of the City of London. Designed by Uruguayan Architect Rafael Vinoly it rethinks the assumption that buildings need to get thinner as they get taller by increasing the floor plan area as it heads skyward. It is here at the top where we have the famous 'Sky Garden', a tropical landscape of palms and ferns housing a cafe, bar and restaurant all under a magnificent glass dome.

ALD were involved at the construction phase of the project helping Willerby Landscapes implement the hard landscape areas throughout the Sky Garden. Our knowledge and experience of roof gardens and podium landscapes were critical to the construction of such a complicated project and our signature attention to detail can be seen throughout this elite quality landscape
