Jubilee Park, Canary Wharf

Measuring approx. 3 acres, Jubilee Park is located above a retail centre and Jubilee Line station. When seen from above, the park reads as a pattern of curvilinear movements and bold organic shapes, deliberately contrasting with the geometric forms of the surrounding build environment. Jubilee gardens was presented the BALI grand award, recognised as an exemplar open space / roof garden scheme by researchers, designers and organisations (including CABE). 

ALD worked closely alongside landscape contractor Willerby Landscapes to develop the detailed design, taking on board the complexities of forming mounds over structures and constructing a unique 23 pool water feature with jets. The park has proved to be an important haven for birds (and fish) within this urban environment.
